Rotate video

Fix a video shot sideways.

Drop the video to rotate

MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. Up to 10 minutes, 2 GB.

Holding the phone sideways and then finding the video sideways on a computer happens to everyone. It is usually because the video really was recorded sideways and carries a "display this turned" flag that some programs ignore.

This does not change the flag; it turns the picture and saves it that way. The output looks right everywhere, whether or not the player reads flags.

At 90 and 270 degrees the frame swaps its sides: a vertical video becomes horizontal and the other way round. At 180 the size stays and the picture is upside down.

Your video is never uploaded. The work happens inside the browser, on your own device, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded. So there is no upload to wait for, no queue, and no file sitting on somebody else’s server afterwards.

Files up to 10 minutes and 2 GB. That is not a plan limit - it is what an ordinary laptop or phone handles comfortably. Trim a longer video first.

Common questions

Which angle do I need?
If it leans clockwise, 270. Anticlockwise, 90. Upside down, 180. If you are unsure, try one and look at the result.
Does the quality drop?
The video is re-encoded, so in theory. You should not see it.
Can I mirror it?
Not here, only rotate. The editor’s clip settings can mirror.
Why do some players already show it correctly?
Because they read the rotation flag. Upload it somewhere that does not and it will be sideways again - this fixes that for good.
