Change video speed

Speed up or slow down, 0.25x to 4x.

Drop the video to change speed

MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. Up to 10 minutes, 2 GB.

Speeding up is the simplest way to fit a long job into a short video: prep, assembly, a drive. Slowing down is for showing a moment that went past too fast.

One thing to know: this speeds the audio with the picture, so voices rise or fall in pitch. That is a deliberate choice - pitch-preserving speed is a harder job and is not in the engine yet. If speech has to sound natural, muting and adding music usually works better.

The length divides by the rate: ten seconds at 2x is five. The frame rate is kept, so 2x does not simply throw away every second frame - the engine retimes them.

Your video is never uploaded. The work happens inside the browser, on your own device, and the page keeps working offline once it has loaded. So there is no upload to wait for, no queue, and no file sitting on somebody else’s server afterwards.

Files up to 10 minutes and 2 GB. That is not a plan limit - it is what an ordinary laptop or phone handles comfortably. Trim a longer video first.

Common questions

Does the audio speed up too?
Yes, and its pitch changes. Pitch-preserving speed is not available yet.
Can I mute it instead?
Not on this page - use the mute tool, or lower the track volume in the editor.
Does heavy slow motion stutter?
Frames that were never recorded are not invented, so at 0.25x motion can look stepped. Footage shot at a high frame rate slows more smoothly.
Why is 4x the limit?
Past that the picture stops being readable and the audio stops being usable.
