How to make a video from photos, with music

A slideshow that moves: each photo drifts slowly, one gives way to the next, and the music plays underneath. The photos stay on your computer.

Steps

  1. Add the photos

Open the editor and drop the photos onto the drop area, or press "Choose a file" and pick them all at once. JPG, PNG and WebP open. Each photo becomes a five-second clip on the video row, one after another.

  2. Check the movement

A still that does not move reads like a frozen player, so every photo starts with a gentle push-in. Click a photo and, in the clip settings, open "Motion": "Slow zoom" is on there. Change "Direction" to drift sideways or pull out, and "Amount" for how far it travels.

  3. Set how long each one stays

Drag the right edge of a photo clip to keep it on screen longer or shorter; a photo can stay up to a minute. Three to five seconds each is usually enough to look and move on.

  4. Add transitions

Click the second photo, then press "Transition" in the left panel list and pick one, for example "Crossfade". A transition belongs to the clip it opens into, so give each photo after the first its own. "Transition length" sets how long the blend takes.

  5. Put music under it and export

Open "Media", press "Add a file" and pick a song. A file with no picture goes on the sound row from the start, under the photos. Drag its right edge to where the last photo ends, set a "Fade out" on its "Audio" tab, then press "Export" and pick MP4. On the free plan exports go up to 1080p and 3 minutes, without a watermark.
