Video sizes for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and YouTube
Four shapes cover nearly every platform. Choose the right one before you edit and nothing important ends up cropped or hidden under a button.
Steps
Know the four shapes
Vertical 9:16 (1080 × 1920) is Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Feed 4:5 (1080 × 1350) is the tallest a photo-feed post shows without cropping. Square 1:1 (1080 × 1080) works in any feed. Landscape 16:9 (1920 × 1080) is ordinary YouTube and most websites.
Set the canvas first
Open the editor and press "Canvas" in the left panel list. Under "Ratio", pick "Vertical", "Feed", "Square" or "Landscape". Do it before you place text and stickers; they are positioned on this frame.
Keep clear of the buttons
Platforms lay their own buttons, captions and account name over the bottom and the right edge of a vertical video. Switch on "Safe-area guide" in the canvas settings: it shows those strips on the preview and is never part of the export. Keep faces and text inside it.
Fit or fill each clip
A clip recorded in another shape fills the frame and loses its edges. To show all of it instead, select it and press "Fit to frame", then set the canvas "Background" to "Blurred fill" so the empty space is filled with a soft copy of the picture.
Export at the right settings
Press "Export". MP4 is accepted everywhere. 1080p is the standard upload size for all four shapes, and 30 under "Frame rate" suits most videos; 60 only helps fast movement. On the free plan exports go up to 1080p and 3 minutes, without a watermark. On Pro, "All formats" exports the 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9 versions in one go.
Tips
- Platforms re-compress every upload, so a higher bitrate than they keep only makes the file slower to send.
- One edit, several platforms: build it vertical, then use "All formats" or change "Ratio" and check the safe area again.
