How to add arrows, circles and callouts to a video
A tutorial, a product demo, a "look at this" moment: an arrow on screen saves a sentence of explaining.
Steps
Move the playhead to the moment
Play to the point where the arrow should appear and stop there. New graphics land at the playhead.
Pick a shape
Open "Shape" in the left panel list. Choose a colour at the top, then an arrow, a curved arrow, a speech bubble, a highlight frame, a ring, an underline or a burst.
Place it
The graphic lands on the titles track as a three-second clip and is selected. In the clip settings, set "Scale", "Horizontal" and "Vertical" to place it, and "Rotation" to aim it.
Change it later
Each graphic shows for three seconds from where it was added. Select it on the timeline to change its colour or position at any time, or press Delete to remove it.
Export
The export draws the same picture the preview shows. Press "Export" and download the file.
Tips
- One arrow at a time. Two arrows on screen make the viewer choose.
- Yellow on a dark scene, black on a bright one; the thin outline keeps either readable.
